OK OK OK by Mike Slack was a gift that I thoroughly enjoyed then and now, especially when I need a creative snack. The collection got bigger with Scorpio and later Pyramids. I have enjoyed them all. No text, only prints of his polaroids, sharing visual stories. Poetic and clever take on the everyday.

Life of a House

While at the architecture firm Tim Barber Ltd, I had the privilege of participating in the design of Moby’s house in the Hollywood Hills. The project was completed in 2011 and featured that year in the New York Times. The house was featured again in 2014, this time in the Los Angeles Times. I love how the house has evolved with art! It’s great to see a house have a life of it’s own. My areas of focus were in the bathrooms and kitchen, selecting tile, stone, fixtures and such. I wonder if these rooms have evolved, as well.

Big Star
Recently watched on Netflix a documentary about the band Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me. Check it out! There is also an article about the film in the New Yorker.
Dutch Chocolate Shop - Los Angeles
[The interior of the Chocolate Shop (which does not usually have a red carpet). Photo by Elizabeth Daniels.]
Interesting article recently posted on Curbed LA about the Dutch Chocolate Shop in downtown Los Angeles. Beautiful installation of custom tiles by artist and tile innovator Ernest A. Batchelder one hundred years ago, in 1914.
Blade Runner
Re-watched Blade Runner recently. An all time favorite film. This time certain scenes made me think of art.
Eames - Early America
Eames put together a book of Images of Early America. Pretty fantastic.
