My meanderings online brought me to Emily Shur's photos and her book Playground, images of Japan in the last ten years. Visually appealing, I got the book. I've enjoyed her captured moments and the quality of the book. Cool, find!
L'AGENCE Melrose Place
The red door is open at the fabulous L'AGENCE boutique on Melrose Place! A refreshed space is like walking into your personal closet. Furnishings in the works yet the current state is still a wonderful respite from the 9 to 5. Peter Vracko was the architect on the project and yours truly the interior design consultant. Thanks to Corbin and Kaiai for a beautiful photo shoot session! Au Revoir.

CALIFORNIA HOME+DESIGN

Earlier this year in February California Home+Design had their 2015 Awards event at Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills. Invited by my friend, interior designer Tracy Gilmore who was featured in the magazine's online column Designer Crush. At the event, they offered free iPhone covers personalized on-site from a company called The Live on Productions. In the latest issue, my cover has been published. I've got one foot in the door... LOL

Antique Silhouettes
Architectural Digest October 2014 | Photography by Scott Frances
Wonderful art wall featured in Architectural Digest October 2014 issue. The house is Patricia Altschul's 1850s South Carolina mansion, interiors by Mario Buatta. The antique silhouettes on the stair hall wall are totally charming. An inspiration for the next project, for sure!

Hollywood Home
photo from LA Home and Style
Pleasantly surprised to see photos in a recent CurbedLA newsletter, that this 1920s Hollywood home is currently on the market for sale. When I was a designer at Tim Barber Ltd, the clients picked out talavera tiles that they loved, and then I mixed them up into a fantastic pattern of tiles. Memorable, fun, eclectic design. Love tiles!
1st Dibs : Desk Accessories
Amazing, dreamy choices on 1st Dibs. Leaning towards a few Art Deco pieces which are so stylish. Love the large pin paperweight. Perche no?

American Trade Hotel
Panama is a wonderful place, and so are the people! Had the pleasure earlier this year to visit Panama and to travel around the City and Islands. Last few days, stayed at the American Trade Hotel a landmark building located in the City center of the historic old quarter Casco Viejo. Beautiful architecture and appointed interiors, an open and airy lobby, curated with a mix of traditional and modern furnishings. The decorative cement tile floor caught my eye, especially the transition between the main entry tiles and the tiles surrounding the concierge desk. The simple change of colors within the same pattern was an unexpected elegant design element to define zones. Can't wait to use this detail on future projects!
Cement tile is a good in/outdoor flooring/wall material for Los Angeles climate. When I've used this tile on projects, most of the time I get tiles from Mission Tile West. They offer plenty of options so that you can dream up anything. Try it!

Yves Saint Laurent
A beautiful book, The Private World of Yves Saint Laurent & Pierre Berge published by Vendome Press. Truly an artist and master curator of all fine things. Eclectic and personal, YSL had a knack for layering spaces with art, furnishings, accessories, textures and color. This book always inspires me. Bon weekend!
